On Sunday, November 17th, Tricia and I visited Chicago’s Cristkindlmarket which is held in the infamous Daley Plaza. It was in the 40’s and sunny, so we thought we’d take advantage of the 22nd annual showing on its opening weekend. While each year the event attracts over one million visitors, this was my first!
We spent a little over an hour browsing the pop-up vendors there selling food, gifts and ornaments. Tricia and I picked up an ornament from Dom itp (Simply the Best from Poland), and shared a few pretzels.
We also enjoyed some mulled Glühwein, or “glow” wine, a toasty, spiced wine perfect for keeping the hands and insides warm.
Even on opening weekend, the crowds weren’t too bad. If you’re visiting Chicago (or if you’re a native), be sure to give this event a “stopping by.” I hope you enjoy my photos from the day!
